The White Sox were founded in 1894. They were originally called the Cornhuskers and they were first located in Sioux City. They were apart of the Western League as the American League did not exist yet.
The early 1900's:
The White sox were relocated to Chicago in 1900. The early 1900's were regarded as some of the White Sox's best years. In 1901 the Western League was changed to the American League. The White Sox were the first team to win the league title. The White Sox also won the 1906 World Series against the Chicago Cubs, later in 1917 the White Sox won another World Series against the New York Giants (which were later relocated to San Francisco).
The Black Sox Scandel:
The White Sox would go to another World Series in 1919 where they faced the Cincinnati Reds. 8 White Sox players were accused of throwing the series in order to recive payment from gambling. Eddie Cicotte and Joe Jackson were amoung these 8 players and they were regarded as one of the best players in White Sox history. A trial for the players was held where they found them not guilty, but the Commissioner of baseball, Kennesaw Mountain Landis, banned the players from playing the sport ever again.

The 2000's:
In 2005 the White Sox won another World Series defeating the Houston Astros. After that the 2000's have been a pretty rocky century for the Southside. It has been three years since the White Sox have made the post season and in 2024, the White Sox got the record for worst winning percantage in the 162 game season.
